Bonners Ferry is the administrative home of Pawsitive Works. It is also where we piloted the program in March, 2009! The results were inspiring and convinced us that this program could benefit youth and shelter dogs in a variety of communities.
Although Pawsitive Works is not a rescue organization, in 2011 we were made aware of some labradoodle mixes that were in dire need of help. We were thrilled that Boulder Creek Academy, a therapeutic residential school here, wanted to run the program with these dogs and that we were able to find some caring people to house, transport and assist with the care of these wonderful dogs. It was an incredibly successful program.
We know our community would love to have this program available to our youth and are hopeful that in the near future a person or group of people may be able to house, care for and assist with transportation of dogs in need of forever homes so we can once again, make a difference in our own hometown.
